Set the temperature

You're the thermostat, not the thermometer.

"A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way." — John C. Maxwell

Monday morning, I walked in tense. By 9:15, the whole room was tense.

I hadn't said a word about it. I didn't have to.

A team reads the leader's nervous system before it reads the agenda.

You don't get to opt out of that. Your mood is a broadcast.

So I've started asking one question in the parking lot: what temperature do I want in there?

Then I try to walk in already set to it.

This week, try deciding your temperature before you open the door.
