Are You a Leader?

Can you write down a list of people you have developed? If not, you may just be in a leadership position by accident. Title and position do not matter. Who have you developed?

An under-rated skill: Help seeking behavior

Image
We fear rejection. And have been taught it's a bad thing to be vulnerable by asking for help. The result is self-created silos where we are cut off from feedback, ideas, and support. And one skill cuts through all the noise: "I don't understand, can you please explain that." Choose to be vulnerable. Choose to level up. End the false macho culture of pretending to know everything.

An approach for life

Find the opportunity in every obstacle. Three skills at your disposal: Objective judgment: how we look at our specific problems, our attitude or approach Unselfish action: use creativity to break down each problem and find the opportunity Willing acceptance: create an inner will that allows us to handle defeat and difficulty Thank you RH .

A model for balance

Too much of a good thing can make it not so much of a good thing anymore. One model that is helpful in the pursuit of living a more balanced life is to ask the question, “ How can I stay curious today about the relationship between excellence, productivity, rest, and play?” These four areas help us to be our best self. And they mutually reinforce one another. Taking time to play makes the chances of reaching a quality of excellence (and sustaining it) more likely. By taking regular, scheduled periods of rest, we actually can increase our overall productivity. The goal is to manage the tension between these four interrelated areas. Onwards, and forwards, in pursuit of balance. HT to the Productivity Paradox by the Move to End Violence .
